Girls Flag Football Deserves Equal Coverage — And Accurate Stats

Girls flag football is one of the fastest-growing high school sports in the country. With college opportunities expanding and more states recognizing the game, visibility matters more than ever. Platforms like MaxPreps help tell the story of a season — but when stats aren’t entered, entered inaccurately, or left incomplete, athletes are the ones who suffer.
Unequal Resources Send the Wrong Message
At many schools, boys varsity football programs have access to film breakdown companies like Hudl and QuickCut. These tools allow detailed stat tracking, verified film exchange, and organized player evaluation.
Meanwhile, some girls flag football programs are not given access to the same resources — even though the boys teams have full availability.
That disparity creates a serious visibility gap.
If one program has verified film, accurate stats, and professional breakdown tools, while the other does not, we are unintentionally limiting our female athletes’ exposure and opportunities.
Stats Matter — But They Must Be Honest
Some coaches may choose not to highlight their best players publicly, thinking it gives opponents an advantage. But the reality is simple: opposing teams still have to line up and stop them.
Hiding or withholding stats does not protect athletes — it limits them.
On the other hand, there’s also the issue of inaccurate or inflated statistics. Last season, we observed a handful of coaches inputting false stats for their teams. Whether intentional or careless, incorrect reporting makes evaluation extremely difficult.
For scouts and media outlets like Prestine Scouting, credibility is everything. When stats don’t match film — or when there is no film to verify — it becomes harder to fairly assess athletes across the board.
And when that happens, players get left behind and unnoticed.
We Can’t Be at Every Game
At Prestine Scouting, we are committed to writing weekly articles highlighting standout athletes at every position. Our goal is to grow the sport the right way — by recognizing talent across all schools, not just the most visible programs.
But we can’t physically attend every game.
We need cooperation from coaches to:
Provide accurate weekly stats
Ensure stats match game film
Share verified performance data
Without that partnership, coverage becomes incomplete, and deserving athletes may miss out on recognition.
The Prestine Solution
Here’s our solution:
Send us your weekly game film — starting from Week 1 of this season.
Even if the season has already begun, you can still submit film from earlier weeks. We want to see the full journey.
We will proudly spotlight standout athletes — but the stats must match the film. Film provides accountability. It protects the integrity of the sport and ensures recognition is earned and verified.
You can send your film directly to our Instagram page via DM. Once received, we can evaluate, confirm, and publish accurate coverage.
Growing the Sport the Right Way
Girls flag football is climbing. But growth requires structure, fairness, and transparency.
Equal access to resources
Accurate stat reporting
Verified film
Honest evaluation
If we want this sport to reach the highest level, we must build it on integrity.
Let’s continue to grow girls flag football the right way.Let’s keep climbing the ladder — together — until we reach the top.
