Crib Classic Dade vs. Broward: Breaking Down the Running Back Talent
One of the most anticipated events of the year in girls flag football is the Dade vs. Broward showdown, hosted by The Crib Classic. The highly awaited matchup has officially been moved to December 21, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., and excitement continues to build across South Florida.
As of now, official rosters for each county have still not been released, for some reason. Because of that, we decided to put together our own prestine list of qualified running backs we believe are capable of making a major impact in this marquee event.

Leading the list is Adriana Junco, who stands as the clear front-runner for the No. 1 ranked running back in South Florida. Her statistics speak for themselves, but it’s her on-field presence that truly separates her from the rest. Junco is a dynamic playmaker with elite speed and the ability to take any handoff the distance. She also showcases one of the best Carioca moves we’ve seen at the position, making defenders miss and creating explosive plays at will.
Dade County, however, is currently dealing with several injuries, which could limit the participation of some key players in the event. Despite those challenges, Dade still has a strong pool of running backs. We’ve identified a list of Dade athletes we believe are fully qualified to step into the role and contribute at a high level if given the opportunity.

On the Broward side, the selections look a bit different. The three athletes we identified are all quarterbacks, but they are also proven dual-threat playmakers. These athletes excel as passers while also possessing the ability to take off and gain crucial rushing yards to extend drives. Their vision, speed, and decision-making make them effective weapons in the run game.
Another reason we limited Broward’s list to three athletes is based on broader evaluations. When ranking the top 200 players by position, Broward showed fewer traditional running backs compared to Dade. Broward offenses tend to be more pass-heavy, relying on strong quarterback play rather than a run-first approach. That said, the three selected athletes are more than capable of contributing on jet sweeps, quarterback options, and designed runs, and can seamlessly transition back into quarterback roles during those situations.
As the Crib Classic approaches, anticipation continues to grow. These are the returning players for the 2026 season, we think are the best choice. We hope to see an official roster this weekend.
