Elite Wide Receivers to Watch: Dade vs. Broward at the Crib Classic
With the Crib Classic yet to release the official rosters for the highly anticipated Dade vs. Broward girls flag football matchup, we took it upon ourselves to put together our own accurate list of elite wide receivers expected to make an impact. This list features a mix of freshmen, state champions, and players who have transferred to new schools, all of whom have proven they belong on a big stage.
Dade County Wide Receivers
Dade’s receiver group is loaded with speed, explosiveness, and versatility, and we believe they hold the edge in the passing game.
Several state champion athletes from Edison earned spots on our list, led by Malayisa David, who continues to establish herself as one of the most reliable and dynamic playmakers in the county. A pair of Homestead athletes also made the cut, further strengthening Dade’s depth at the position.
Zakieria, who previously appeared on our running back list, put up outstanding numbers as a wide receiver this season. Simply put, she is a huge offensive threat no matter where she lines up. Unfortunately, due to injury, she will not be able to compete in the Dade vs. Broward game—a development that definitely benefits Broward.
Dade’s future is also extremely bright. Standout freshmen Melina Pickard, Brianna Bogan, and Torri Cotman all made our list. After seeing them compete in person, they easily pass the eye test, and their production backs it up. Their speed and athleticism are next-level, and they’re already performing like seasoned varsity players.
Overall, Dade brings more speed than Broward, and we believe that advantage will allow them to win the offensive battle through the air.

Broward County Wide Receivers
Broward is far from outmatched and brings a dangerous group of receivers capable of putting up points quickly.
Leading the way are two elite wide receivers from DPJD High School, both boasting over 100 receptions along with impressive receiving yardage and touchdown totals. Emmi Merhi presents a major challenge for Dade’s defense with her height and physicality. She will be the tallest receiver on the field, and it will be interesting to see if Dade opts to double-cover her throughout the game. Her ability to win contested catches makes her a constant red-zone threat.
TT McFadden, however, stands out as the most dangerous receiver on Broward’s list. In our opinion, she is the best wide receiver on Broward’s roster and has the potential to be the difference-maker in this matchup. We predict McFadden could be the key player that helps Broward defeat Dade—keep a close eye on her.
The potential return of Courtney Heymach would be massive for Broward if she is officially selected. After watching her compete at the Palm Beach Shootout, it’s clear she’s a true playmaker. Madison Ojeda is another difficult matchup, known for route running and the ability to separate from defenders with ease.
Final Thoughts
This wide receiver matchup is stacked on both sides and should make for an exciting battle, especially when it comes to jump balls and clutch catches. Dade brings elite speed and youth, while Broward counters with experience, size, and proven production.
On December 21, we’ll find out which group wants it more.
