The First Annual Prestine Quarterback Combine was more than just another football event—it was proof that a vision can become reality when people believe in it. Hosting an event of this caliber takes much more than one person. It takes dedicated coaches, supportive parents, selfless volunteers, and organizations willing to invest in young athletes.

Our goal from the very beginning was simple: create a quarterback event that isn't normally available to the public, and make it completely FREE. We wanted to remove financial barriers and give every quarterback an opportunity to learn, compete, and be evaluated by some of the best coaches in the game.

This event would not have been possible without the support of the Stoneman Douglas coaching staff and the FFE staff, who played a major role in helping bring this vision to life.

One of the biggest highlights of the day was having Florida Atlantic University's Head Coach and Quarterback Coach, Coach CJ, agree to lead the quarterback camp portion of the event at absolutely no cost. For those who aren't familiar with Coach CJ, he is one of the most respected quarterback coaches in the country and someone every young quarterback hopes to learn from. Because of his demanding schedule, opportunities to work with him are extremely rare. However, Coach CJ believed in our mission and made himself available on June 27 to invest in the next generation of quarterbacks.

His presence alone attracted athletes from across Florida. Several quarterbacks drove hours just for the opportunity to learn from him. Coach CJ also provided quarterback training equipment, while Coach Adam Goldman supplied enough footballs to ensure every participant had what they needed throughout the camp.

Out of the 25 quarterbacks who registered, 17 attended the event. Those athletes represented schools from across the state, including Seminole Ridge, Eastlake, Wellington, Fort Pierce Central, Spanish River, Pahokee, Stoneman Douglas, Legacy, Boyd H. Anderson, True North Classical Academy, McArthur, Calvary Christian Academy, and Somerset Academy Canyons.

It was exciting to watch quarterbacks with different throwing styles, mechanics, and skill sets compete against one another. The competition was intense from start to finish.

The day began with Coach CJ's quarterback camp, where athletes focused on fundamentals, mechanics, and preparation before transitioning into the combine drills. Each drill was designed to evaluate a different aspect of quarterback play.

Launch Test

The first event was the Launch Test, where quarterbacks competed to see who could throw the deepest and longest football while maintaining proper mechanics and ball flight.

Drop Set Drill

The second event was the Drop Set Drill, which evaluated footwork, lower-body mechanics, balance, timing, and upper-body fundamentals. Quarterbacks were challenged to maintain proper technique throughout every drop.

Quick Release Drill

Next came the Quick Release Drill, where quarterbacks were timed on the speed of their release. The clock started the instant the football touched their hands and stopped the moment the ball left their fingertips, measuring how quickly they could process and deliver the football.

Target Practice

The fourth competition was Target Practice. Two receivers lined up 10 yards away—one to the left and one to the right—while a defensive back positioned herself between them. The quarterback's objective was to deliver an accurate throw while avoiding interceptions or pass breakups by the defender. This drill tested both precision and decision-making under pressure.

PRO DAY Challenge

The final event was the Route Tree Challenge, one of the most demanding portions of the combine. Quarterbacks were required to throw the ten primary routes that every quarterback and receiver should master to compete at the next level.

The first round consisted of five routes thrown to the left side of the field, while the second round featured the remaining five routes to the right.

Quarterbacks were evaluated on timing, anticipation, accuracy, and ball placement. Points were deducted for passes thrown at a receiver's feet, overthrown passes, passes thrown behind the receiver, or any throw that forced the receiver to stop or significantly adjust their route to make the catch.

Throughout the day, every quarterback displayed talent, competitiveness, and a willingness to improve. While the overall level of play was impressive, five quarterbacks separated themselves from the rest with outstanding performances across the combine.

After reviewing each athlete's performance and evaluations, here are our Top Five Quarterbacks from the First Annual Prestine Quarterback Combine.

Olivia Nagel (Wellington)
Olivia Nagel (Wellington)

No. 1 Overall Quarterback: Olivia Nagel

Olivia Nagel earned our No. 1 overall ranking and was the Top Performer at the First Annual Prestine Quarterback Combine. She finished with the highest score in our quarterback evaluation system, earning an impressive 219 combine points.

From the moment the drills began, Olivia demonstrated why she was the top-rated quarterback of the day. In her Pro Day debut, she completed 9 of 10 throws during the Route Tree Challenge. Completing 90% of the route tree against combine standards is an outstanding accomplishment and reflects both her accuracy and consistency.

She continued to impress throughout the competition, finishing 5-for-6 in the Target Practice drill, where quarterbacks were required to make precise throws while avoiding a defensive back attempting to break up or intercept the pass.

In the Drop Set Pass Drill, Olivia delivered a flawless performance, completing all 6 of 6 passes while displaying outstanding footwork and mechanics.

Her performance in the Quick Release Drill was equally impressive. Olivia recorded a best release time of 0.85 seconds, while completing 4-for-4 passing, showcasing one of the fastest and most efficient throwing motions at the combine.

During the Launch Test, her longest throw traveled 36 yards, demonstrating solid arm strength to complement her exceptional accuracy.

What separates Olivia from many quarterbacks is her ability to consistently make the throws every coach wants from a signal-caller. Her football spins with exceptional consistency, earning a perfect 10 for SPIN RATE in our evaluation system, while her arm strength received a 9 out of 10. Whether throwing short, intermediate, or deep passes, she delivers the football with confidence, timing, and precision.

Beyond her physical ability, Olivia possesses a high football IQ and a coachable mindset. She is eager to learn, continually improve, and embraces the details required to play the quarterback position at a high level. Her throwing mechanics are among the best we have evaluated, and she owns one of the quickest, cleanest releases we have seen from a quarterback in the state of Florida.

We've been following Olivia's development for approximately a year, and each time we evaluate her, she continues to raise the standard. Based on her work ethic, talent, and continued growth, we believe she has all the tools necessary to lead her team on a championship run.

Don't be surprised if Olivia Nagel is competing in Tampa for the 2027 Florida State Championships. She has every ingredient needed to become a state championship quarterback, and we believe her best football is still ahead of her.

Avery Yu (Spanish River)
Avery Yu (Spanish River)

No. 2 – Avery Yu

Some athletes arrive at a showcase hoping to make an impression. Others leave with everyone talking about their performance.

That was exactly the case for Avery Yu of Spanish River High School.

At the 1st Annual Prestine Quarterback Combine, Avery finished as the No. 2 overall quarterback, earning 199 total points after putting together one of the most complete performances of the event. Even more impressive, she's only a freshman entering high school, proving that age doesn't always define a quarterback's ability to command an offense.

Avery was exceptional throughout every phase of the combine.

During PRO DAY, she completed 9 of her 10 passes, displaying exceptional ball placement, timing, and confidence in the pocket. Her chemistry with her receivers was evident, as she consistently delivered accurate throws at every level of the field.

She was flawless in the Drop Set Pass Drill, finishing a perfect 6-for-6 while demonstrating polished footwork, balance, and the ability to reset quickly before delivering the football.

In the Quick Release Drill, Avery completed 3 of 4 passes while recording a release time of 1.19 seconds, showing her compact throwing motion that allow quarterbacks to get the ball out efficiently under pressure.

She also excelled in the Target Practice Drill, connecting on 5 of 6 attempts, once again proving her accuracy and consistency.

To cap off her performance, Avery recorded a 32-yard throw during the Launch Test, showcasing enough arm strength to stretch the field while maintaining excellent touch on her passes.

The Prestine Quarterback Combine evaluates far more than arm strength. It measures accuracy, mechanics, decision-making, consistency, and overall quarterback performance.

Avery checked every box.

Her impressive summer wasn't limited to the combine.

Prestine Scouting also had the opportunity to evaluate Avery during the Junior Dolphins League at the Miami Dolphins training facility. Serving primarily as Spanish River's QB1, Avery helped lead the Sharks to their third consecutive Junior Dolphins League Championship at the high school girls flag football level.

What stood out most was her command of the offense. Avery throws one of the more balanced footballs you'll see from a young quarterback. Her deep ball is every bit as consistent as her short and intermediate throws, allowing her to attack defenses from anywhere on the field. She processes quickly, delivers catchable passes, and has earned the confidence of her receivers, who trust her ability to lead the offense.

That confidence speaks volumes, especially considering the amount of talent in the Spanish River quarterback room.

The Sharks have been fortunate to feature outstanding quarterback talent, including Brooke Eriksson, Ashley Knapp, who possesses one of the strongest arms in the area, and now Avery Yu, who has quickly established herself as another rising name in one of Florida's deepest quarterback rooms.

Finishing No. 2 overall with 199 combine points is a remarkable accomplishment for a young quarterback competing against talented athletes.

This is exactly why Prestine Scouting created the Prestine Quarterback Combine.

Not every athlete has access to the same opportunities or exposure, but talent deserves a stage. Events like this provide quarterbacks with an objective platform to showcase their abilities, compete against elite competition, and put their names on the radar.

Avery Yu accomplished exactly that.

After an outstanding debut at the inaugural Prestine Quarterback Combine, she has officially earned her place on Prestine Scouting's quarterback watch list for the 2027 girls flag football season.

If this summer was any indication, Avery Yu is only getting started.

We look forward to watching her continue to develop and compete during the 2027 season.

Kailee Grone (Fort. Pierce Central)
Kailee Grone (Fort. Pierce Central)

No. 3 – Kailee Grone

Every quarterback enters a combine looking to prove they belong among the elite. Kailee Grone didn't just prove she belonged—she validated why she's one of the most respected quarterbacks in Florida.

At the 1st Annual Prestine Quarterback Combine, Kailee finished No. 3 overall with 189 total combine points, putting together an outstanding performance from start to finish.

During PRO DAY, Kailee completed 7 of her 10 passes, displaying excellent command of her throws, a strong arm, and the accuracy needed to consistently move the football. Whether attacking short, intermediate, or deeper routes, she showed the confidence and poise expected from a high-level quarterback.

She was flawless in the Drop Set Pass Drill, finishing a perfect 6-for-6 while demonstrating outstanding footwork, balance, and throwing mechanics.

Kailee continued her dominant performance in the Quick Release Drill, completing 4 of 4 passes while recording a blazing 0.78 release, one of the three fastest release times recorded at the Prestine Quarterback Combine. Her ability to diagnose the target and get the football out quickly makes her a difficult quarterback for any defense to contain.

She followed that performance with another perfect showing in the Target Practice Drill, finishing 6-for-6. Defensive backs had little opportunity to make a play on the football, as her ball placement consistently kept passes away from defenders and in positions where only her receivers could make the catch.

To conclude the combine, Kailee launched the football 37 yards during the Launch Test, once again showcasing the arm strength that has become one of her defining traits.

Prestine Scouting has been evaluating Kailee since last year's tournament at St. Thomas University, and one thing has remained consistent throughout that time—she is one of the most physically and mentally tough quarterbacks we've evaluated in person.

Her understanding of the game stands out immediately. Kailee combines football IQ, leadership, arm strength, and accuracy into a complete package that gives her the ability to compete with anyone in the state.

One of the biggest examples of her competitive nature came during the regular season when she helped lead her team to a victory over Seminole Ridge, a program that is the most feared in the state of Florida. Defeating a championship-caliber opponent speaks volumes about her preparation, confidence, and ability to rise to the occasion in the biggest matchups.

What separates Kailee from many quarterbacks is her competitive edge. She's the type of player who embraces adversity. If opponents try to get under her skin or talk trash, she doesn't lose focus—instead, she elevates her game. The bigger the moment, the more dangerous she becomes, often making opponents regret giving her extra motivation.

Kailee possesses the complete skill set to lead a winning football team. She has the arm talent, accuracy, leadership, football intelligence, and competitive fire that coaches look for in a starting quarterback.

In our evaluation, Kailee has the ability to compete for a starting role on virtually any girls flag football program in the state of Florida.

Her performance at the inaugural Prestine Quarterback Combine only reinforced what we've seen over the past year.

Finishing No. 3 overall with 189 combine points is a testament to her hard work and dedication to her craft, and we look forward to watching Kailee continue to compete and build on her success during the 2027 girls flag football season.

Ava Wotipka (Somerset Academy Canyons)
Ava Wotipka (Somerset Academy Canyons)

No. 4 – Ava Wotipka

Some quarterbacks rely on athleticism. Others rely on mechanics. Ava Wotipka has mastered both, making her one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in girls flag football.

At the 1st Annual Prestine Quarterback Combine, Ava earned the No. 4 overall ranking, finishing with 187 total combine points after another impressive performance against some of Florida's top quarterbacks.

During PRO DAY, Ava completed 6 of her 10 passes, showcasing the arm talent and creativity that have made her one of the most difficult quarterbacks to defend. What immediately stands out is her throwing motion. Ava has one of the most unique releases we've evaluated, yet it is quick, efficient, and consistently effective.

She opened the combine with a perfect 6-for-6 performance in the Drop Set Pass Drill, displaying outstanding footwork, balance, and body control while delivering accurate throws under pressure.

In the Quick Release Drill, Ava once again was flawless, completing 4 of 4 passes while recording a 0.81-second release, the fourth-fastest release time at the Prestine Quarterback Combine. Her ability to get the football out quickly allows her to challenge defenses before they have time to react.

She continued her perfect day in the Target Practice Drill, finishing 6-for-6. Ava's football IQ was on full display as she consistently manipulated defenders with her eyes and ball placement, often sending defensive backs in the wrong direction before delivering pinpoint throws to her receivers.

To cap off an outstanding combine, Ava recorded the longest throw of the event, launching the football 41 yards in the Launch Test, setting the benchmark for arm strength at this year's combine.

Prestine Scouting has been evaluating Ava since the 2025 St. Thomas University Tournament, where we first witnessed her compete. Even then, it was clear she possessed a rare combination of athleticism, arm talent, and football instincts.

Watching Ava play reminds us of the way Michael Vick impacted a game during his playing career. Like Vick, Ava is a true dual-threat quarterback who can extend plays, create outside the pocket, and punish defenses with both her arm and her athleticism. While every player is unique, her ability to change a game with a single play is what makes that comparison come to mind.

In our evaluation, Ava is currently the top dual-threat quarterback in the state of Florida. She is exceptionally difficult to defend because she processes the game quickly, keeps defenses guessing, and has the athletic ability to turn broken plays into explosive gains.

Her preparation, leadership, and competitive drive reflect the standards expected of elite collegiate athletes.

Earlier this year, Prestine Scouting predicted that Somerset Academy Canyons had the talent to reach the FHSAA State Championship game, and that prediction became reality as the Cougars advanced all the way to the championship game. Although they came up just short of capturing the title, their season demonstrated they belong among Florida's elite programs.

Looking ahead to the 2027 season, we fully expect Somerset Academy Canyons to once again be a serious contender to return to Tampa and compete for a state championship.

With Ava Wotipka leading the offense, that goal is well within reach.

She possesses the arm strength, athleticism, football intelligence, and leadership that project to the highest levels of the game. Her performance at the inaugural Prestine Quarterback Combine reinforced why she is regarded as one of the premier quarterbacks in the country, and we look forward to watching her continue her outstanding career during the 2027 girls flag football season.

Taylor Feeley (Eastlake)
Taylor Feeley (Eastlake)

No. 5 – Taylor Feeley

There are quarterbacks with strong arms, and then there are quarterbacks whose throws immediately command everyone's attention.

Taylor Feeley is one of those quarterbacks.

At the 1st Annual Prestine Quarterback Combine, Taylor earned the No. 5 overall ranking, finishing with 184 total combine points after delivering one of the most memorable throwing performances of the event.

During PRO DAY, Taylor completed 6 of her 10 passes, showcasing the elite arm talent that has quickly made her one of the premier quarterbacks in Florida. Prestine Scouting graded her arm strength a perfect 10 out of 10, while her accuracy earned a 9 out of 10. From her throwing motion to her release and follow-through, every aspect of her mechanics reflects countless hours of preparation.

Taylor possesses one of the cleanest throwing releases we have evaluated, and arguably the strongest arm we've witnessed in person. She stood out immediately during warmups, long before the official drills began. Every throw carried exceptional velocity while maintaining outstanding control and precision.

She opened the combine by going 5-for-6 in the Drop Set Pass Drill, demonstrating excellent footwork, body control, and the ability to throw accurately while resetting her platform.

Taylor followed that with a flawless 4-for-4 performance in the Quick Release Drill, recording an eye-opening 0.72 release time—the second-fastest release at the Prestine Quarterback Combine. Her ability to process the field and get the football out almost instantly makes her an extremely difficult quarterback to defend.

She continued her impressive day by finishing a perfect 6-for-6 in the Target Practice Drill. Defensive backs struggled to react to both the velocity and placement of her passes. Time after time, Taylor used her football IQ to move defenders with her eyes before delivering strikes that left little opportunity for pass breakups or interceptions.

The power behind her throws was impossible to ignore. Every pass exploded out of her hand with remarkable velocity, drawing the attention of coaches and spectators throughout the event. Her arm talent was one of the biggest talking points of the combine, and it was clear that everyone in attendance recognized they were watching a special quarterback.

Taylor capped off the day by throwing 39 yards in the Launch Test, recording the second-longest throw of the combine and further validating why she is regarded as one of the strongest throwers in girls flag football.

Prestine Scouting first evaluated Taylor during the 2026 FHSAA Final Four State Championships in Tampa, and it didn't take long to recognize her exceptional talent. From that first evaluation, it was evident she possesses the physical tools and football intelligence to compete with the very best quarterbacks in the state.

Taylor has the ability to change the outcome of a game at any moment. Her combination of elite arm strength, quick release, accuracy, and football IQ allows her to attack defenses at every level of the field. She is a quarterback capable of making every throw and elevating the players around her.

She finished No. 5 overall with 184 combine points, Prestine Scouting believes Taylor has the talent to compete with any quarterback in the Top 5. The margins separating these elite athletes were incredibly small, and Taylor proved throughout the combine that she belongs among Florida's best.

Looking ahead to the 2027 season, we expect Taylor Feeley to continue establishing herself as one of the premier quarterbacks in the state. If her development continues at its current pace, don't be surprised to see East Lake High School making another deep postseason run.

Something tells us that Taylor Feeley will be returning to Tampa in 2027 with another opportunity to compete for a state championship.
